Who Should Attend?

  • Clergy desiring to reach out to local students
  • Parish council members looking to describe a new ministry for their parish
  • Outreach Ministry leaders desiring to expand outreach horizons

What You Will Learn?

  • Why - Case stories of the impact of a vibrant college ministry on your parish
  • Who – Whoare these college students and what can motivate them. Examples of the formative impact such ministries can have on students –building a next generation of parish leaders. Can we non- Orthodox students as inquirers? What are they looking for?
  • How - What actions to take. How to find and connect with students nearby. Building a sustainable link between your parish and local campuses.

Why You Should Attend?

  • Breaking Insularity. Ministry activities that focus outside our parish, often pay the biggest dividends internally. College ministry can bring more people -- younger people who deliver energy -- to your parish. And, they ask good questions!
  • Souls are at risk. If students from your parish travel away from home to attend college, how would you like them to be treated by local Orthodox parishes? Will they need support and a welcome? We have these same responsibilities to young adults from other Orthodox communities.
  • Inquiring minds. Contrary to popular opinion college years are a fertile time for forming future beliefs. Many college students are exploring the solid doctrine and authentic worship of the Orthodox Church. Help them find their way.
