Glory to Jesus Christ!
This is to officially announce that His Eminence, Archbishop MELCHISEDEK has set Saturday, November 1, 2025, as the date of the 2025 ANNUAL ARCHDIOCESAN ASSEMBLY. This will take place at the St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral (8290 Thompson Run Road, Allison Park, PA 15101) . The day will begin with a Divine Liturgy at 9 AM followed by the two plenary sessions and a meal. Individuals responsible for submitting materials for this Annual Assembly are asked to please forward them to me electronically at (frbill158@verizon.net) no later than September 30, 2025, so the reports can be forwarded electronically to the parish priests, laity delegates, and observers for review in advance of the Assembly. (We will not read all reports verbatim at the Assembly, but rather, give only highlights while taking time for questions/comments.)
* Parish priests are reminded that attendance is expected unless an absence is blessed in advance by the hierarch for “just cause.” *
Laity delegates from parishes currently in arrears for diocesan assessment payments will not be seated at the Archdiocesan Assembly or afforded the right to vote in accordance with the Statute of the Orthodox Church in America and the By-Laws of the Archdiocese of Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania (OCA), unless otherwise noted by the chancellor on behalf of the hierarch. Please contact Administrative Assistant Omelan Mycyk at the chancery (Tel: 724-776-5555 // Email: chancery@ocadwpa.org) should you have any questions about your parish’s assessment status. (His established chancery office hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday - 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM.) He will forward your question to Archdiocesan Treasurer Alexis Parshook (or me) as necessary for resolution.
Please contact me at this email address or by calling my Ambridge parish office number listed below if you have questions concerning this Assembly. Thank you.
In Christ,
Archpriest William J. Evansky
